Wren's Commitment to Sustainability
At Wren, we take sustainability seriously and understand the importance of minimally disrupting the environment while being focused on reducing costs in our business to allow us to better serve our customers and support the community. Our membership with the Green Business Bureau is a symbol of our commitment to the environment.
Wren's sense of corporate responsibility is demonstrated through the variety of sustainability programs already in place. Starting with product design, we look to utilize sustainable materials and localized vendors who support our goals. For example, we have re-engineered our packaging designs, reducing packaging by up to 35% - saving materials, shipping expense and space. We also have implemented initiatives in our facilities such as a geothermal heating and cooling system in our 90,000sq. ft. Missouri facility and migrating our lighting in the production facility from HID to fluorescent, allowing us to use less energy and reduce our costs. Finally, we have active volunteer and community enrichment programs that help people and give back to the community that we serve and that supports Wren, with over 83% of our employees donating their time to help others.
By continuing to advance our sustainability plans, we feel we can grow our business by using fewer resources and reallocating cost savings to new initiatives, new markets and new employees.
